The reggae community is reacting to the decease of legendary vocalist Jimmy Riley, who is the begetter of singer Tarrus Riley.

The elder Riley died on Wednesday morning in the infirmary post-obit a long battle with cancer. He was 61 at the time of his expiry.

Several reggae/dancehall artists has since expressed their sadness on social media including Maxi Priest, Mr. Vegas, Konshens,

"No words can ease the pain on the loss of the legendary Jimmy Riley, who has passed abroad. My deepest heartfelt condolences go out to the family unit, friends, fans, and the music fraternity. To my bredren Tarrus Riley, know this Rex…that your begetter'due south soul is eternally sealed with the Omnipotent, in His house. Tarrus Riley also expressed his thanks for the many condolences sent his way by fans and friends.
